Students unveil their robotic creations

About six weeks ago, three local robotics teams from area high schools received a kit of parts.
The teams -- from West Lafayette, Harrison and Jefferson -- had to turn the parts into a robot that could pick up a ball and shoot it at a target as part of the FIRST Robotics Competition.
Robot challenge pulls kids into library

The cups didn't stand a chance against the robot that Joey Marris of West Lafayette and his teammates helped assemble Saturday afternoon.
Twelve-year-old Marris joined other area youth at the Tippecanoe County Public Library to assemble and test Lego Mindstorm robots.
The robot challenges ranged from pushing rows of cups off a table to rolling a ball into a cup to "sumo wrestling" the other robots.
