FIRST Robotics Competition

The FIRST Robotics Competition is an exciting, multinational competition that teams professionals and young people to solve an engineering design problem in an intense and competitive way. The program is a life-changing, career-molding experience – and a lot of fun.  In the 2012 season, the FIRST Robotics Competition reached over 2,300+ teams; 58,000+ high school students.

Purdue FIRST Programs has established four robotics teams in the Greater Lafayette area. Our first robotics team, Westside Boiler Invasion, was started at West Lafayette High School in 1999. We founded another team, Boiler Precision Guessworks, at Lafayette Jefferson High School in 2004. Our third addition to Purdue FIRST Programs is our team at Harrison High School, Harrison Boiler Robotics, which was founded in 2005.  Then for the 2012 season, Purdue FIRST  Programs helped start a team in McCutcheon High School.

Please feel free to visit the student-maintained web pages of our robotics teams for more information regarding the FIRST Robotics Program:

If you have any questions about Robotics, please contact the Director of Robotics for one of the teams.
